BACKGROUND
Paul Wever has been involved with the construction industry for over
15 years. It began when he started his own residential construction business
after graduating high school in 1980. To help his workers, he invented a
crane that attaches to a backhoe used to lift roof trusses.
The company was formed in 1987 as a subcontractor of engineering services
to Caterpillar Inc. It divided into two service categories in 1991, when
the helm of the company was taken by Paul Wever. Wever made the decision
to get involved with marketing services to construction equipment manufacturers
and end-users, and to develop products for the industry.
PWCE has developed other products, including the "Extendavator", an excavator attachment that gives the machine an additional 8-24 feet reach at about one-fifth the cost of a long-arm excavator. "We try to help manufacturers, dealers, and end-users save time and money with creative ways. All the time people use a piece of equipment that they wish could do something better or differently. If we know about it, we'll try to make it so it can."
